Many people have questions or concerns about the limitations of a picture or computer screen when it comes to accurately representing the colors involved. This is a very fair point.

One of the keys to making this process work, for you and for us, is acknowledging that there are limitations. Because we do, we are able to work around these limitations. Our inherent understanding of the characteristics of color, combined with our knowledge of what each of the shingle colors looks like in real life, (we have full-size shingle samples, in addition to rooftop examples on real houses) allows us to confidently provide you with reliable information. In other words, we have experience doing this.

15-20% of the time we ask our customers for additional pictures or a little more color information to help us work through these color limitations.

About 4% of the time, despite our experience, we can’t work around the limitations of this system. In those instances, we tell our customers that we are having trouble working through the limitations and would be happy to refund their $. About half of those accept our refund. The other half say our best effort is still their best option and ask us to finish what we’ve started.
